The man accused of causing the death of an elderly Marisule woman is due to appear in court on Friday.

Police have confirmed that the court appearance comes two days after he was charged with the murder of Rose Ann Raymond.

Peter Thomas, was also charged last month for stealing the motor vehicle belonging to the 76-year-old woman.

The 43-year-old Barbadian national, living at Union, Castries, first appeared in court on the theft charge on January 16 and returned on Feb. 8 for case management.

The results of DNA tests have conclusively tied Thomas to the murder, according to officials.

Raymond’s body was discovered by police at her Marisule, Gros Islet residence on Dec. 10, 2016 after they responded to a suspected burglary report from her family.

Police said Thomas, a handyman, was known to the victim.
