The CEO of Lambirds Academy and two other co-defendants are today in court to fight Human Trafficking charges.

The case which has dragged on for almost two years involves the enrollment of dozens of Nepalese students who came to St Lucia to pursue higher learning. But they claimed that they were lured here under false pretenses.

Dr Iftekar Sham who is at the center of the case has had two of three charges against him dismissed. Speaking to RCI news today he informed that there is no basis for the Human trafficking charges which he has been slapped with. He further explained that he has taken his case to Human Right International which has determine that he has committed no infringement.

Dr Sham insists that he was framed by police and that the efforts to tarnish his reputation and that of his academy were politically motivated.

He has vowed to publicly identify the individuals behind the plot to destroy him, when the Human Trafficking case is dismissed.

Dr Sham has disclosed that he is ready to move ahead with several business ventures, following the favourable outcome of today’s hearing.
