Bail has been set for the suspect in a foiled robbery attempt on a shop in Babonneau last week.

Reynolds Alfred, was bailed in the sum of $5000 cash or suitable surety, or land documents when he appeared in court at Anse La Raye.

The 25 year old man, of Carielle was also ordered to stay indoors from 12 midnight to 8.am as part of his bail conditions.

The bail conditions also include reporting to the Central Police station every Wednesday between 9. am and 6.pm and surrendering all travel documents.

In addition, Alfred has been ordered not to leave the state without permission and stay away from the Cacao area of Babonneau.

He is alleged to have attempted the robbery at a shop in Cacoa, when he was held and beaten by the shop owner and residents.

Photos of a battered victim, who was later stripped naked, were posted on social media.
