As the government celebrates its first year in office the Opposition St Lucia Labour Party says not much has changed since the June 6th general election.

The shortcomings of the United Workers Party government were highlighted when the opposition staged a political meeting in Laborie over the weekend.

Among those addressing party supporters was MP for Castries South Dr Ernest Hilaire who stressed that twenty six homicides recorded so far for 2017 is evidence that Allen Chastanet has reneged on his promise to make St Lucia safe again.

Hilaire says since its election loss in 2016, the opposition has been forced to spring into action, because under the leadership of the United Workers Party government has created a crisis situation for St Lucians.

The St Lucia Labour Party lost the June 6th election last year 11/6.
