Saturated conditions at the Cultural Centre Grounds have forced organizers of the Power and Groovy Soca Preliminaries explore alternative venues for the weekend show.

According to the Chairman on the Calypso management Committee Claude Paul, the Vigie Sports Complex car park has been earmarked for the event which takes place on Friday this week. It is being held free of charge to the public.

He notes that the move is not anticipated to have any major impact on the turn out, as it is not far from the original location.

Meanwhile Mr Paul has also commented on news that veteran calypsonian Invader has pulled out of the calypso qualifiers.

He informed that the committee was formally notified that by Ignatius Tisson via correspondence, which stated that the decision has been taken for personal reasons. He will be replaced by Blaze.

Meanwhile, the order of appearance for artists vying for a position in the semi finals and finals of the calypso and soca competitions will be determined today.
