A 47 year old resident of Aux Lyon, Dennery was arrested and charged for the offenses of possession and cultivation of a controlled drug.

James Bernard was arrested during an eradication exercise which was conducted at Louvert, Dennery on Tuesday, December 2, 2013, by Police officers attached to the Dennery Police Station. During the exercise, the officers uprooted 6209 Marijuana plants and confiscated approximately 21 lbs of dry Cannabis.

Bernard appeared before the Second District Court in Vieux Fort on Wednesday, December 3, 2013 where he pleaded guilty to the charges. He was fined $3000.00 on the charge of possession of a controlled drug and $4000.00 on the charge of cultivation, and was ordered to pay the fine in six months or in default, six months imprisonment.
