One individual is in police custody in connection with the stabbing death of a 21 year old Micoud man.

Officers attached to the Micoud Police Station received a report of a stabbing, at the Micoud Playing Field, about 10:00p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2017.

David Egarnest was conveyed to St. Jude Hospital via ambulance and he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, August 1, 2017.

A post mortem examination which was conducted today by Dr. Heather Emmanuel, revealed that he died as a result of hemoperitoneum (hemo-peri-tone-um) resulting from injuries to the liver and abdominal aorta, secondary to stab wound to the abdomen.

One individual is currently in police custody in relation to this incident. Investigations into this matter are continuing.

The death is registered as the 33rd homicide for the year.
