A caution has been issued by met officials, warning St Lucians to brace for bad weather that could begin to affect the island this evening.

According to Met Officer Andre Joyeaux, the system is the closest to the region, among three that has become better organized.

The system which could develop into a tropical storm is approximately 500 miles from St Lucia and is expected to pass over or close to the island this evening

Joyeaux has advised St Lucians to take the necessary hurricane precautions in order to remain safe and mitigate damage to life and property.

An advisory has also been issued to fishermen and sea bathers, as well as residents along the coastline, ahead of the pending bad weather.

While officials advise St Lucians to brace for Tropical storm conditions, the system could potentially develop further.
