There is no shortage of reaction to an exchange between the Minister for Tourism and a local journalist during a pre cabinet briefing on Monday.

The back and forth ensued after Miguel Fevrier questioned Dominic Fedee on what appears to be a leaked document of a cabinet conclusion for government to grant duty free concessions to Sandals Resorts International on operational vehicles.

But instead of responding to the question, Fedee shot back with personal attack on the reporter, noting that the line of questioning devalues him as a journalist.

Speaking on the issue today Newspaper publisher and talk show host Rick Wayne opined that while both the Minister and the reporter must bear responsibility, he sides with the reporter on this one.

Meanwhile Wayne also spoke to what is being seen as a level of arrogance on the part of government officials when faced with questions from the media. Pointing to a recent Trump Press Conference, Wayne noted that it seems to be a new trend.

The exchange between Dominic Fedee and Miguel Fevrier has raised more questions on the concessions issue.
