The Seismic Research Unit of the University of the West Indies has confirmed the occurrence of a 4.7 magnitude earthquake which has been felt in at least three Caribbean islands.

Residents of some areas in Castries reported being shaken Friday by the tremor which occurred 112 km North North East of the Capital City.

The National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO), has confirmed the occurrence of the quake around 6:58 am.

There have been no reports of injury or property damage in St Lucia. The event was also reported as felt in Martinique and Dominica.
