St Lucia joins the international community to put the spotlight on children with the observance of International Day against Child Abuse and Universal Children’s Day this month.

The global observances take place on November 19th and 20th respectively and are intended to raise a collective awareness to the potential of children.

In calling on St Lucians to join the cause, Minister for Equity Lenard Montoute has implored the nation to reflect on the joys that children bring to families and communities.

He has also issued a reminder that children are heavily influenced by Adults.

Montoute also urged the public to observe the day with a moment of silence and by wearing orange to demonstrate support against child violence.
