Medical Officials have provided an update on the Soufriere Hospital after a fire destroyed a section of the facility last week.

Chief Medical Officer Dr Merlene Fredericks spoke with RCI news earlier today while on a tour of the hospital.

She informs that a reassessment of the facility is being undertaken to determine when services can resume.

Dr Fredericks notes that while there has been increased traffic at the Etangs wellness centre, health service prioviders have been able to rise to the challenge.

She however notes that access to the services continues to remain an issue.

The Chief Medical Officer has commended the public for their patience while the hospital remains closed.
