One individual remains in police custody in relation to investigations currently underway into the death of Sadia Byron, but no charges have been laid.

The disclosure came from the Assistant Police Commissioner for Crime Management George Nicholas who informed that the other individual who had been detained has not been ruled out as a possible suspect.

Byron was apparently raped and killed just yards from her home and buried in a stone grave.

Nicholas says police are pursuing many leads in what is being described as a wide open case.

The killing has left the Laborie community in shock and many are calling for swift justice in the case.
