Despite an announcement from the Water and Sewerage Company, Inc. (WASCO) indicating that it has restored the water supply to the north of the island following the passage of the storm, complaints from residents in certain pockets continue to pour in.

According to the notice which was issued two days ago Wasco says residents are far as Mongiraud are receiving a supply, but the company anticipates that customers at higher elevations will begin to receive a supply later.  WASCO also explained that an airlock on the Castries system which was restricting the water supply in the city has been resolved and Castries is receiving water.

The company further notes that the Hill 20 Treatment Facility has been operational as of Thursday, December 26, 2013 and production has increased to full capacity. That facility is also providing water to communities without a water supply through trucking. In Delcer, high levels of siltation will necessitate the closure of the system from time to time to allow for clearing of the system. However, these closures will be only temporary, WASCO says.
