Residents around the island who continue to remain without water since the passage of the Christmas eve storm can expect relief some time today.

That's according to WASCO’s communications officer Clinton Reynolds, who notes that the company is doing all in its power and working round the clock to restore the water supply to normal.

He notes that lingering problems in certain pockets are responsible for the delays.

Mr Reynolds says while the company suffered major damage to its infrastructure across the island, its main focus has been to restore the water supply. He adds that an assessment of the damage incurred has not yet been made.

WASCO expects to begin a de-silting process on its dam facilities some time in the first quarter of this year
