The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force pays final respects to one of its own in a Military funeral scheduled for later today.

On December 24, 2013, Special Police Constable 4 Calvin Louis of Piaye, Laborie passed away tragically as a result of the Christmas Eve Trough. Calvin Louis was a police officer of 18 years service. At the time of his death, he was attached to the Special Services Unit of the Southern Division.

A Military Funeral Service for the late Special Police Constable Louis will be held at the Victory Pentecostal Church in Vieux Fort at 2pm.

As a result the RSLPF would like to inform the motoring public that some roads will be closed to facilitate the Military Funeral Service of the fallen officer. The closure is to allow police officers to parade from the Vieux Fort /Laborie Highway near the Special Services Unit base to the Victory Pentecostal Church at Cedar Heights, Vieux Fort.

All vehicles travelling from Vieux Fort to Laborie and its environs should do so via the Beanfield Road, near the Vieux Fort Police Station, left onto La Ressource Road near the George Odlum Stadium, and right onto St. Jude Highway into Augier.

All vehicles travelling from Laborie and surrounding areas to Vieux Fort should make a left turn into the Laborie/Augier Highroad onto the St. Jude Highway, left onto the La Ressource road, right onto Beanfield and into Vieux Fort.

When the parade and procession gets onto the St. Jude Highway, no vehicle will be allowed to turn left onto the Vieux fort Industrial Estate Road near the Gablewoods Shopping Mall.

All vehicular traffic accessing the Vieux Fort/ Laborie Highway will return to normalcy after the parade has passed into the St. Jude Highway. However the St. Jude Highway with its junction with the Laborie/Vieux Fort Highway will return to normal after the procession has ended.
