Plans are at an advanced stage to host His Excellency Ma Ying-jeou, President of the Republic of China (Taiwan), who is expected to arrive in Saint Lucia later this evening.

To facilitate his visit, it is expected that there will be some disruptions to traffic flow in and around the city.

On Friday, August 16, 2013, there will be parking restrictions on Laborie and Peynier Streets and the William Peter Boulevard. As a result, members of the public can expect some delays in the provision of government services at offices located in the Parliament Building on Laborie Street.

The Government also expects that some discomfort and inconvenience will occur as the official motorcades move from place to place.

The Government of Saint Lucia calls for patience and understanding, as Saint Lucia extends its customary welcome and hospitality to His Excellency, Ma Ying-joeu.
