The family of a 19 year old youth is outraged and seeking answers from the police following a shooting incident that has left him seriously wounded.

The incident occurred in Coolie Town Marigot on Thursday evening around 5pm.

Curtis Alexander was reportedly shot three times—twice in the groin area and once in the kneecap by a police officer who was at the time trying to apprehend him for questioning in connection with a report of a stolen cell phone.

According to the brother of the victim, he found Alexander bleeding profusely in the balcony of the family home, following the incident.

Mr Sevrin says that family has taken issue with what appears to be moves on the part of the police to be judge, jury and executioner in this incident. He adds that the decision to shoot Alexander three times was excessive.

Mr Sevrin says the family intends to take legal action over the shooting after they have allayed fears about the severity of Alexander’s health condition.

Curtis Alexander was expected to receive bail earlier today
