One woman is currently in police custody assisting with the investigation of a stabbing incident which led to the death of a Roseau resident in what appears to be a domestic dispute.  

The incident occurred at Roseau, Anse La Raye about 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2014.

Reports indicate that officers attached to the Anse La Raye Police Station were in receipt of a report which led them to the dwelling house of 49 year old Cornelius “Kennedy” Wiggins. While there, police observed Wiggins lying motionless on a bed with what appeared to be a wound to the torso.

It is believed that Wiggins and the suspect were involved in a domestic dispute which led to the stabbing incident.

Wiggins was transported to Victoria Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. A post mortem examination is scheduled for a later date.

In more news, Police are on the hunt for the individual responsible for a shooting in New Village on Monday.

Officials say 27 year old Barney Isidore of Arundel Hill, Marchand sustained a gunshot wound to the face whilst standing in the community of New Village, Castries about 7:15 p.m., on Monday, January 13, 2014.

Reports indicate that an unknown man walked up to the victim and discharged a firearm in his direction hitting him in the face. Barney was transported to Victoria Hospital where he was treated and admitted in a stable condition.

No one has been arrested in relation to this incident. The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force is appealing to anyone who has information which can assist with the investigation of this matter to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at telephone numbers 456 3770/456 3817. Investigations into the incident continue.
