The United Workers Party candidate who has been nominated to replace Stephenson King as leader of the Opposition has been speaking on the task ahead.

Dr Gale Rigobert who featured as a guest on Wednesday’s Newsspin program noted that she would rely heavily on the support of her party as she takes on the challenging role.

Speaking on the notable rift within the United Workers Party since the recommendation was made to replace Stephenson King was made, and speculation that he may opt to leave the party, Dr. Rigobert says she would hate to see Mr King walk away. She further noted that with his vast experience in politics, serving in the UWP, the party is richer for it.

She admits that it will take some time for all members of the party to come to terms with the recent changes that have been made. Dr Rigobert says the bigger task before the party is giving fair representation to the many supporters who see it as a formidable opposition.
