A declaration made by Prime Minister Dr Kenny Anthony, indicating that a bridge which is now under construction in Dennery will be known as the ALBA Bridge has been described as interesting.

The news appears to have further fuelled questions from the Opposition United Workers Party about the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of the Americas and St Lucia’s membership in the bloc.

The declaration has also caught the attention of Newspaper publisher Rick Wayne. RCI news sought to get the sentiments of Mr Wayne on what is being seen as a controversial issue. Mr Wayne challenged the media to dig deeper into the Prime Minister’s pronouncement, and in particular, reference made to two individuals who were killed during the Banana uprising in the Dennery valley during the John Compton era.
