The ban on a cargo vessel at the center of an investigation being spearheaded by local health officials has been lifted.

The vessel and its crew members were placed in quarantine since their arrival here on Sunday. Since then, a probe had been launched into the death of one crew member and to determine why one other crew member had been ill.

Fabiana Chedy, an official of Professional and Confidential Services--a company which was contracted by the Ministry of Health announced today that the ban has been lifted under certain conditions.

She also described the ordeal for the crewmen who have been aboard the vessel while under quarantine.

Ms Chedy is hopeful that several lessons have been learnt from this experience for both health care officials and the crewmen.
