A couple who had been vacationing here is currently assisting local police with investigations following an attack that has left a taxi driver nursing injuries at hospital.

Police reports confirm that about 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1st, officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department responded to a report of wounding which occurred on Millennium Highway, Castries.

On arrival on the scene, the officers observed a Caucasian couple standing near a stationary taxi. They were subsequently identified as visitors to the island and were being accompanied by police officers. Upon inquiry, information received suggests that the driver of the taxi was allegedly attacked by the male visitor resulting in him sustaining multiple stab wounds.

The driver who was later identified as Moses Bertrand of Marigot, Castries was transported to Victoria Hospital via ambulance where he is currently admitted in a stable condition.
