A ceremony held at the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, ECSC, on Wednesday April 09,2014, marked the introduction of the Bordelais Correctional Facility Video Link System.

The Video Link System which was tested at the Registry of the High Court during the ceremony signifies the first installation, for a Correctional Facility within the jurisdiction of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court.

Also present to endorse and welcome the introduction of the Video Link Facility at the Bordelaise Correctional Facility, was the honorable Minister for Home Affairs and National Security Senator Phillip La Corbiniere, who is also the Minister for Legal Affairs.

Speaking at the ceremony and declaring the video link system ready for use, Her Ladyship the Honorable Dame Janice M. Pereira  indicated that the video link facility will lessen both the costs and risks associated with moving large numbers of prisoners between the courtroom and the Bordelais Correctional Facility on a regular basis, noting the distance between the two locations covers miles. The Minister along with officials of the court  extended sincere thanks to the British government through British High Commissioner Mrs. Victoria Dean and Resident British Commissioner Andy Price for the funding of this project.  

A similar video link system has already been in operation at the Family Court for some time now and has proved successful. The Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, ECSE, was the implementing agency for the Video Link System at the Bordelais Correctional Facility and also within the courtroom circuit
