Local firms and individuals who provide services in the area of Information and Communications Technology are gearing-up for a major ICT Forum.

The event, slated for Wednesday July 10, 2013 is expected to attract close to forty IT professionals from the public and private sector. It will be held at the Bay Gardens Hotel from 9:00 am.

This Forum will bring together key ICT experts from St. Lucia to assess the state of development and adaptation of ICT in St. Lucia and to chart the way forward for more efficient use of ICT in national development. The Saint Lucia Coalition of Service Industries (SLCSI) is collaborating with the Saint Lucia ICT Association (SLICTA) in hosting this National ICT Forum.

Vincent Lewis is the program Coordinator at St Lucia Coalition of service industries.

With several advances being made worldwide, Mr Lewis notes that the forum will bring players together to compare notes on how to maximize the use of technology.

Key presenters and speakers at the St. Lucia ICT Forum include Dr. Cletus Bertin – Director of Public Sector Modernization, Albert Daniels – ICANN Manager of Stakeholder Engagement for the Caribbean Region, Chris Roberts – Coordinator of the Caribbean Regional Communications Infrastructure Program – CARCIP and Mr. Kervyn Tobias, Country Specialist for the OECS E-Government for Regional Integration Project (EGRIP). The ICT Forum will be followed by a General Meeting of SLICTA at which a new Executive will be elected to administer the affairs of the association for the ensuing period.
