A Bois Patat woman is currently in police custody after attempting to ship a package out of Saint Lucia.

The incident occurred on Tuesday August 27, 2013 when she attempted to ship a package using a local shipping agency.  During an examination of the package by Customs personnel they discovered what is suspected to be Cocaine.

She was subsequently arrested and taken into custody for Possession of a Controlled Drug and Attempting to Export a Controlled Drug.

Charges are expected to be laid against her at a later date. The matter is currently under active investigation.

Meanwhile, on Friday August 30, 2013, 26 year old Nigel Hippolyte also known as Iya of Faux A Chaud, Castries appeared before the First District Court to answer to charges of Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm and Possession of Ammunition.

He pleaded Guilty to both charges and was remanded in custody at the Bordelais Correctional Facility until September 27, 2013 when he is expected to be sentenced.

Hippolyte was arrested on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 when a search warrant was executed on his premises during a joint police operation at Faux A Chaud.
