The spread of the vector borne virus Chikungunia in St Lucia appears to be much that authorities suspect.

The pronouncement was made by National Epidemiologist, Neham Jn Baptiste, who provided the latest figures regarding the situation with Chikungunya in St. Lucia.

According to Mr. Jn Baptiste the number of confirmed cases of Chikungunya has climbed to 20 with 120 suspect cases. He notes that the situation on the ground is believed to be much worse than the figures presented.

According to information reaching the ministry some persons with Chikungunya have opted to use home remedies like bush medicine rather an presenting themselves to a doctor or wellness clinic.
