Despite negative reaction to a startling discovery near the High Court on Tuesday, one local lobbyist has pointed to a positive.

This comes after reports that two dead frogs with their moths sewn were found outside of the building, prompting suggestions that it may have been a signature obeya ritual, intended to pervert the course of justice.

But the former Chairman of the Iyanola Council for the Advancement of Rastafari says while many have denounced the idea of obeya as a negative cult practice, it is a major part of some African cultures and, it has a place in the black community.

Mr Alexander who believes that there should not be any misuse of the ritual says it could have been employed as a scare tactic that was targeted at the police. He stresses that he is totally against the use of obeyea for the detriment of others.
