St Lucia is reaching a desperation point as far as getting a handle on its poor fiscal situation.

The Dr. Kenny administration is under immense pressure to tackle its $76 Million fiscal deficit which it proposes can start with Government Workers taking a 5% wage cut and 3 year wage freeze.

This has been strongly rejected by public sector trade unions.

Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Ms. Jadia Emmanuel says that time is running out and as such what lies ahead is very scary.

The St. Lucia Government was looking to reach an agreement on the issue by June 30th.

It is now expected to continue haggling with public sector trade unions over the next few weeks.
