St. Lucia’s Minister for Education has strongly denied allegations of a coverup Steps have been taken by the island’s Ministry of Education to correct a major blunder in its announcement of a top performer in the Common Entrance Exam.

The error was exposed on Friday in the latest flog blog post by Jason Sifflet, suggesting that Lovell Motley, a student from the Monchy Primary school was in fact the among leading performers at the exam scoring 96% rather than the originally allotted 87 percent average.

Since then, the news has gone viral, prompting a response from education officials here. Education Minister Dr Robert Lewis addressed the issue earlier today on the nation’s station. But when RCI news was informed that the Education Minister was attending a function and was unavailable for comment.

We were however advised that the Ministry of Education would be releasing a statement on the situation today.
