Suggestions that the leadership ability of Mr Philip J Pierre can rival that of Dr Kenny have been shot down by a local newspaper Publisher.

This comes following Mr Pierre’s intervention, last week, which  caused striking fire fighters and emergency personnel to end their eleven day strike.

Mr Pierre’s readiness to assume the St Lucia Labour Party and the nation has been the subject of debate in several quarters for some time.

While he has been coy about having such ambitions, some suggestions are that he is best suited for the job.

But Mr Rick Wayne is of the view that over time Mr Pierre’s reputation has taken a nosedive and that the fire fighters are the real heroes for deciding to go back to work.

Mr Wayne believes that the fire service men and women are the ones who should get credit for resolving the situation even though they have not been given a timeline within which their longstanding issues would be addressed  

Fire fighters returned to work last week, breaking an 11 day strike, following an audience with Philip J Pierre who was the Acting Prime Minister at the time

Dr Anthony returned to the helm of the St Lucia government as of Sunday fresh from a visit to the UK to participate in St Lucia Showcase.

The vent was used to promote the island as a tourism investment destination.
