The island’s largest cultural showpiece continues to be plagued with financial problems even though several changes have been made at a management level.

Reports indicate that despite efforts to revamp the island’s carnival, the winners in the various competitions are yet to receive their payments.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, Heritage and Creative Industries Donavan Williams explains that the delay is as a result of an insufficient allocation for the festival.

Mr Williams notes however that after many lengthy discussions toward addressing the situation, disbursements are expected to be made this month.

According to Mr Williams the disbursement from the Ministry of Finance is expected to be made by next week
