The main coordinator of the 2014 Creole day festivities has reported success in the staging of activities to commemorate Creole Heritage Month in October.

Executive Director of the Folk Research Centre Hilary La Force says the program of activities were well executed and well attended throughout the month.

He has noted the increased involvement from government agencies which he says has contributed to the success of the overall celebration.

But above all he says was the overwhelming support from patrons to the events staged by the four host communities on Sunday.

Mr La Force has commented on the economic value of the creole festival and its potential for growth.

He notes the efforts of the Ministry of Tourism which has helped to create a brand for the festival. The FRC Executive Director says he is pleased that it has already been marketed in overseas territories which share the creole background.

Creole Heritage Month is observed annually throughout October
