The St Lucia Tourist Board has highlighted the significant economic benefit that the arrival of crews participating in the Arc Plus Race.

The event set sail from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on Sunday 9 November, with over 50 yachtsmen and crew participating in the nautical race.

Speaking ahead of the arrival in St Lucia Public Relations Manager at the St Lucia Tourist Board John Emmanuel explained that the arrival will present another opportunity for Arc officials to partner with their local counterparts.

Last year, several activities were planned to keep the crews entertained once they berth at the Rodney Bay marina.

The second ARC+ edition bound for the Cape Verde Islands is expected to head off across the Atlantic on 19 November bound for Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia following a 3-5 day stopover.

The first boats in the Arc plus are expected to arrive here on December 1st
