The St. Lucia Diabetes and Hypertensive Association is seeking to stress the importance of an active healthy lifestyle starting at the school level.

The move comes as part of activities to commemorate World Diabetes Day on November 13.

Communications officer at the SLDHA Sophia Jules Branford explains that despite several studies conducted on the non communicable disease, society still does not have an appreciation of its effects on their lives.

As part of activities to commemorate World Diabetes day, the association has planned a special exercise to raise awareness about the debilitating disease.

The activity will take place in Castries and Vieux Fort Simultaneously.
