The former Parliamentary of one of the largest constituencies here agrees that there is need for an adjustment in Gros Islet.

Mr Lenard Spider Montoute who has joined the debate on the constituency boundaries notes that a split is long overdue, mainly due to the disparity that exist in the population of that constituency compared those which are much smaller.

He adds that because of the disproportionate size of the populous constituency, the electorate faces a disadvantage as the allocation of resources is evenly distributed among constituencies.

Mr Montoute has also commented on suspicions about the timing of these discussions and the suggestions of gerrymandering.

He notes that while they are not unfair or unexpected, there must be evidence to support such claims.
