A challenge has been issued to law enforcement officials to clear the air on the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a mentally ill man of Burceville Vieux Fort.

Claims from the family of Christopher Severin suggest that at least three shots were fired, one of which hit him in the back, while police were trying to apprehend him this week. But according to a police press statement the man was shot in the lower part of his body.

The incident has been the subject of much debate here with Newspaper publisher Rick Wayne and other callers to Thursday’s Newsspin program pressuring local authorities for answers.

A post mortem examination conducted on the body of Christopher Severin revealed that he died of hemorrhagic shock secondary to gun shot wound.
