Local police have open investigations into the latest road fatality, following a motorcycle crash that occurred in Marigot on the weekend.

On Saturday, November 22, 2014, about 6:15 p.m., Officers attached to the Marigot Police Station responded to an accident which occurred at Coolie Town,.

The incident involved a motor cycle registration number PG 3111, driven by 24-year-old Janii Bertrand of Marigot and a pedestrian, 61-year-old Donald Henry of Ciceron, Castries. As a result of the accident, Henry sustained serious injuries and was transported to Victoria Hospital via ambulance where he was treated and admitted. He later succumbed to his injuries, while at hospital.

Janii Bertrand is currently in police custody assisting police with their investigations. This is the 18th road fatal accident recorded so far for 2014.
