One St Lucian Used car dealer says believes that he is being victimized by operatives of the Customs and Excise Department.

Mr Ronald Paris says his latest order of used vehicles has been sitting on the Wharf in Castries and he has been unable to clear them because of allegations being made by the Customs Department.

Mr Paris who has been accused of under invoicing and false declaration says he has not withheld any information about the latest shipment of motor vehicles from the department.

He says the seizure of his vehicles has become very costly for himself anf his customers.


Mr Paris has singled out  two senior customs officers whom he believes has deliberately made him a target. Mr Paris says he has enlisted the services of a local lawyer , but in the meantime he is also joined calls for strong consumer laws to be enacted here.
