The leader of the fourth place winner in the 2014 Panorama steel pan competition has expressed frustration at the non payment of the full amount of prize monies by the Carnival Planning and Management Agency some five months after the contest.

Mr Guy Innocent told RCI news that a part payment was made to the Busta Emerald Steel pan band about a month ago and he was promised that the balance would have been paid shortly after.

But to date he says, despite several calls to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Creative Industries Donnovan Williams and Carnival Director Teddy Francis, the payment remains outstanding. He adds that the situation is a major cause of embarrassment to him.

Mr Innocent says because of the delay, he is unable to meet his financial obligations to the individuals who played a part in organising the pan spectacle on competition night.

Efforts to reach Mr Donnavan Williams for a comment have been unsuccessful. Earlier this year the Permanent Secretary had informed that the disbursement for the payment of prize monies has been approved by the Ministry of finance and had been handed over to the CPMA.
