The Ministry of infrastructure, Port Services and Transport is starting off the New Year with a bang as it prepares to officially commence major works in the island’s south.

This comes on the heels of the successful completion of several projects in 2014, including the Bois d’ Orange Bridge and three ALBA-funded Bridges as well as major progress accomplished on others, including slope stabilization works on the Barre De L’ Isle, and road rehabilitation works in Vieux Fort and in Choiseul.

The South Roads Rehabilitation Projectwill be the largest road rehabilitation project to be undertaken by the current administration at a sum of EC $29 million.  It will encompass the full rehabilitation of approximately ten (10) KM of the road network within Laborie as well as the Banse - La Haut Road.

The project, which will be accomplished utilizing a Design-Finance-Build methodology, will also include the requisite drainage, sidewalks and retaining structures.

A signing Ceremony to mark the commencement of the works will be held on Wednesday’s 07th January 2015, at 3:30pm in Banse.

Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Hon. Dr. Kenny Anthony, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure Hon Philip J Pierre and Member of Parliament for Laborie Alva Baptiste are all down to address Wednesday’s gathering.
