The St Lucia Tourist Board is boasting an increase in total stay over visitor arrivals to the island from 2013, with the figures estimated at over 3 hundred thousand

The organization revealed that the figures recorded in February, March, April, June, October, November and December of this year were the highest numbers ever recorded for these specific months.

The US continues to remain by far the island’s largest source market, commanding more than one-third (42%) of total arrivals, which grew a further 11% over last year’s figures.

The UK maintained its position as the second largest source market with a 22% share of arrivals, while Canada trailed as the fourth largest market, despite a 15% increase in arrivals

France and Germany, the SLTB reports are steadily gaining market share, both recording increases in 2014. But the studies show that the Caribbean market shrunk by 8% in last year, acquiring only 16% of market share.

Meanwhile total airlift to St Lucia increased 5% in 2014 from its US, UK and Canadian markets, however the Caribbean recorded an 8% drop in airlift following LIAT’s consolidation of services.
