Deputy Police Commissioner for Operations and Crime has reacted to a fifteen year record of no homicides here during the month of January and has cautioned against premature celebration..

Ms Frances Henry noted that while the development is a positive one and speaks to the effectiveness of crime fighting systems established by the Royal St Lucia Police Force, it cannot accept the credit.

Official statistics indicate that, the year 2014 registered six homicides in the month of January.

Ms Henry notes that members of the public must be commended for several reasons.

The last time that the records of the RSLPF reflected no homicides for January on an island wide level was in the year 2000, exactly 15 years ago.
