The organizers of a major competition designed to focus on patriotism in the local media, have expressed disappointment in the level of participation by some of the mainstream radio stations here.

The competition which has a cash incentive for both the radio station and DJ who plays the most local music in the run up to St Lucia’s Independence was organized by the Ministry of Creative Industries.

Consultant in that department Christopher Hunte who has been spearheading the competition says many of the smaller radio stations are enthusiastic about the idea and have been actively participating in the contest.

Mr Hunte says monitors continue to observe and record the activity on the local airwaves.

The Most Patriotic DJ and radio station will receive a cash prize of $1000.00 each.
