St. Lucia Volleyball Congress
The St. Lucia Volleyball Association held it’s Biennial Congress at the Bay Gardens Hotel, March 1, 2014 with the participation of seven (7) member clubs. Reported were the activities and success 2012 – 2013 with President Brian Louisy highlighting where hard work has taken the sport and the potential go even further.

Beach Volleyball, being the fastest growing sport in the world and the many successes St. Lucia has enjoyed over the years, gave rise to a special presentation highlighting the journey for qualification of teams to the CAC Games and the 2014 Youth Olympics. The congress spoke to the need to change the dynamic of how the various aspects of the association is run in order to hold the course it is on and to chart new courses for opportunity and success.

United Insurance U- 19 School Cricket Scores

Another round of matches were completed on Tuesday in the United Insurance Under 19 School Cricket Tournament with victories for Ciceron  Secondary over Corinth Secondary, for Castries Comprehensive over Entrepot Secondary and for Piaye Secondary over Soufriere Comprehensive.

At the Monchy Playing field Ciceron Secondary spurred on by a 5 wicket haul from Simeon Dalakan registered a comfortable 8 wicket victory over Corinth Secondary. Corinth Secondary batting first were under mined by some very aggressive seam bowling from Ciceron Secondary only managed 124 all out in 25.4 overs with Winsley Samson 12 the only batsman to reach double figures. Simeon Dalakan led the bowling attack for Ciceron bagging 5 for 10 in 5 overs and was supported by Veron Preville who took 2 for 19 in 5 overs, Daniel Jn Baptiste 2 for 38 in 7 overs and Collinus Calender 1 for 22 in 5 overs.

National Anti-Doping Organisation launched in Saint Lucia
Representatives from several interest groups came together at the Auberge Seraphine Hotel last Saturday for the formal launching of the National Anti-Doping Organisation.

" The launching of the National Anti-Doping Organisation  will make the Saint Lucia anti-doping fraternity better able to organise itself through educational programmes, better testing schedules and allow for a completely independent body to oversee issues pertaining to doping in sport," said Dr. Kennety Louisy, a representative of the Regional Anti Doping Agency.
