Another Record for Chris Gayle in the Indian Premier League
Two years after smashing the highest-ever individual score in the Indian Premier League, Chris Gayle found his way to the record books again, becoming the first man to hit 500 sixes in Twenty20 cricket. Playing his 201st T20 game, Gayle managed to score only 10 in Royal Challengers Bangalores' rained-out match against Rajasthan Royals but ensured he took something away from the game, when he dispatched Tim Southee over long off.

Massy United Schools Cricket Tournament Resumes with Semifinal Action

The 2015 Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Massy United Insurance Under - 19 Schools Cricket Tournament resumed on Tuesday with a semifinal clash between Soufriere Comprehensive and Gros Islet Secondary at the Dennery Playing Field.

The game was reduced to 40 overs a side due to a late start. Soufriere Comprehensive led by a 5 wicket haul from leg spinner Romal George and an unbeaten half-century from Julian Sylvester completed a comfortable 7 wicket  victory over Gros Islet Secondary and secured a place into the finals of the 2015 Massy United Insurance Under - 19 Schools Cricket Tournament.

Sunil Narine Banned from Bowling Off Spinners in the Indian Premier League
In another setback for Sunil Narine, the West Indies player has been barred from bowling off-spinners in all matches organised by the BCCI, including the ongoing IPL.

Kolkata Knight Riders' ace spinner Narine underwent a biomechanical analysis in Chennai after being reported for a suspected illegal action again during the IPL tie against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Visakhapatnam on April 22.

It was a hot and scorching morning as last medal winner and a dozen others forged their way through the tough St .Lucia golf club track. Saint Lucia Under-18 Team Preparing for the Windward Islands Tournament in June

National U19 selectees  in preparation for the 2015 Windward Island u-19 cricket championship to be played in Dominica in June, played two 50 overs  trial  matches on the Weekend:

On Saturday 25th April 2015 TEAM A Lead by Donan Edward won the toss and batted, scored 227 for 8 wkts in 43 overs. Conillus callender top scored with 55, Dane Edward 38, Johnnel Eugene 37 and Denzel James 27. Bowling for TEAM 2: Joshua Mann 2 wks for 23, Adeju Hobson, Daniel Jn Baptiste, Simeon Garson and Milam David took one wicket each.

Saint Lucia's Jr Sportsman of the Year is #1 in Central American and the Caribbean
Saint Lucia's Junior Sportsman of the year 2014 Adriel Bousquet secured the #1 ranking in the 14 and under division for the Central America and Caribbean regions. Adriel was able to secure the #1 ranking on the back of one of the most successful tours by a St. Lucian tennis player.

Canaries, Gros Islet and Vieux Fort South for Michel’s Electrical Super League Football Semifinals

Canaries, Gros Islet and Vieux Fort South have all booked their place to the semifinal round of the Michel’s Electrical Super League Football Tournament.

David Henry and Fitus Shepard scored in the 43rd and 75th minute to send Canaries past Roseau 2 goals to nil.

West Indies Lose the Second Test in Grenada by...
ST GEORGE’S, Grenada, CMC – Mediocre batting coupled with a devastating new ball spell from seamer James Anderson combined to help West Indies squander a position of strength and slide to a heavy nine-wicket defeat to England in the second Test here Saturday.

Resuming the final day at the Grenada National Stadium on 202 for two – a lead of 37 runs overall – West Indies spectacularly lost their last eight wickets for 105 runs, to be all out for an insufficient 307, 35 minutes after lunch.

A Successful Weekend for Saint Lucia's High Jump Queens in Tough Conditions
Saint Lucia's top two female high jumpers competed over the weekend, both facing cold, wet conditions.

At the prestigious Penn Relays, Jeannelle Scheper continued her unbeaten season in the high jump, winning the Championship Division with a mark of 1.86 meters (6-1.25). The senior earned her first career victory at the meet and passed on the final bars as she sets her eyes on the postseason. Teammate Nakita Gray was impressive in her own right, setting a new personal record with a jump of 5-11.75 to tie for the second-best height. She bumps up from third on the program top 10 to a tie for second with Chelsea Hammond.

Team Saint Lucia Wins the Eastern Caribbean Beach Volleyball Olympic Qualifying Competition
Saint. Lucia defeated Antigua & Barbuda in the final series to dominate the ECVA Men’s BVB Olympic Qualifier part of the NORCECA Continental Cup that concluded on Sunday at beautiful Castaways Beach in Antigua & Barbuda.
 
St. Lucia conquered the event claiming first place unbeaten after three intense days of competition; there performance was demanding and showing determination to finish on top, while exhaustion proved to be no limitation to reach their objective.

Tickets for Mayweather-Pacquiao Fight Sell out Within Minutes

Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao's fight sold out within minutes and tickets immediately appeared on websites for as much as £94,000 ($141,000).

Only 1,000 tickets were made available to the public for the fight on 2 May at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Saint Lucia One Step Closer to Getting an Olmpic-size Swimming Pool, Thanks to Funding from the ROC Taiwan

Saint Lucia is one step closer to the construction of a National Aquatic Centre. On Thursday, April 23, 2015, the Republic of China (Taiwan) contributed XCD$ 1,055,290.54 in grant funds, to be used for commencement works.

Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Kenny D. Anthony says Saint Lucia ought not to view the $12 million investment in the National Aquatic Centre simply as facilitating a sport.

The National Boxing Federation is Set for Up to Six Upcoming Competitions
After a relatively quiet first four months of the year for the ST.Lucia Boxing Association the coming few months will be a very busy one for them. The association has shortlisted a number of boxers for a series of upcoming regional and international engagements.

ST.Lucia is expected to participate with a six member team and three officials at the OECS Boxing championships in Grenada May 28th to the 30th.ST Lucia are defending OECS Boxing champions having won the tournament when it was last held in 2013   right here in ST. Lucia. The ST. Lucia team for Grenada will be announced next week.

Saint Lucia Volleyball Names Teams for Upcoming Regional and International Beach Engagements
The St. Lucia Volleyball Association has named three Teams in both Male and Female divisions to represent St. Lucia over the coming two weeks. Firstly, Tevin St. Jean and Afernee Ferdinand along with Dania Hamilton and Kerin Neptune, will represent St. Lucia at the Opening Stage of the 2015 NORCECA Tour to be held in Cayman Islands from April 23-27, 2015. St. Jean and Ferdinand were the upset winners at the recently held Aqua Mele Beach Volleyball Championship April 5th and 6th, only recently agreeing to play together. St. Jean has some experience having partnered with Cohen Caesar on one stage of the Tour before. This will be Ferdinand’s first outing.

Meanwhile, Augusin Faulkner and Cohen Caesar will lead St. Lucia’s charge at the 2016 Rio Olympic Beach Volleyball qualification, at the Continental Cup in the Male division. This will take place in Antigua at the same time, April 24-27, 2015. They will be joined by Sheldon Descartes and Darnel Eudoxie as team St. Lucia takes on nine other ECVA countries for one of four spots in the Second Round of the Continental Cup scheduled for later this year. Faulkner and Caesar know each other very well, as they have been playing together for some time now.

2015 Vieux-Fort South Football Season Kicks Off!
The 2015 Vieux-Fort South football season kicked off on Sunday 19th with all the pomp and flair bestowing a National Finals.

The SLFA/Vieux-Fort South re-registration tournament whistled off with two matches at the Phillip Marcellin ground in front of a healthy and appreciative crowd.

In the first match from from 5:00p.m, the 2014 Southern inter club champions, KNIGHTS came up against the VIEUX-FORT VETERANS.

The first half was almost evenly poised but veterans lost an opportunity when the KNIGHTS keeper, saved from the penalty spot.

Cable and Wireless Signs On as a Regional Broadcast Parter for Rio 2016
CABLE AND Wireless Communications (CWC) will be the official broadcast sponsor and telecommunications network for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

More than 15 million people across the Caribbean will benefit from a strategic broadcast rights deal agreed and signed between Cable and Wireless Communications and CANOC Broadcasting Inc to televise performances of regional athletes at next year's Olympics from the opening to closing ceremonies.

England and the West Indies Each Likely to Make One Change for the Second Test in Grenada
England is likely to make one change to their starting XI for the second Test against West Indies in Grenada, which starts on Tuesday.

The tourists have a doubt over spinner James Tredwell who hurt his arm in the closing stages of last week’s drawn first Test in Antigua

Spin bowling all-rounder Moeen Ali is therefore set to return to the side after he joined the squad on Saturday after recovering from an abdominal injury suffered at the World Cup.
