The Dr. Kenny Anthony Cup concluded on Sunday March 16th as it was played infront of one of thr biggest crowds ever to witness a football final in Vieux-Fort in recent times.

At the end of the day it was UPTOWN and PLATINUM who enjoyed victories while KNIGHTS and STABLE BOYS were left to dry their tears.

In the third place  match, which did not create much excitement, UPTOWN got the better of KNIGHTS and defeated them 1 nil.

The finals however, saw more excitement than the third place game. Agression was shown from the kick off and so tense was the match that this resulted in PLATINUM being reduced to 10 men, when their captain and central defender, Bernard Edward was shown a red card in the tenth minute of play for a dangerous tackle

This allowed STABLE BOYS to use their numerical advantage and get through the defence of PLATINUM with ease. However  some good goalkeeping by Justin Joseph ensured that the scores remained locked at  nil all in the first half.

PLATINUM seemed to have found some impetus as they went out on an all attack and dominated the early part of the second half and keeping much of the play in STABLES BOYS  half.

Midway through the second half STABLE BOYS capitalised on a counter-attack and their prolific striker, Nigel Theodore  found the back of the net and put STABLE BOYS ahead.

This lead was short-lived as PLATINUM got their equaliser when Dwayne Charles converted from the penalty spot after Noah Nicholas was brought down in the area.

The action continued with both teams having some serious exchanges, but it was PLATINUM which went ahead when Gregson President converted in the 65th minute.

The issue was then put beyond doubt when Gelani Neptune sealed STABLE BOYS' fate with PLATINUM'S third goal and so the match ended 3 - 1

For their victory, PLATINUM collected the Dr. Kenny Anthony Cup, which was presented by the Parliamentary Representative and Prime Minister himself as well the cash prize of $3000.
For their second place, STABLE BOYS received $1500, while UPTOWN and KNIGHTS each received  $1000 and $500 respectively.
