Gros Islet Under 21 Wins Semi Finals
The Gros Islet Under 21 Football Team won its Semi Finals game at the Sab Playing Field at Vigie on Saturday 12th July against Dennery. 
 
In the 1st half of the game Travis Meril of Dennery scored in the 1st minute of the game leading with 1-0 at the start.  Ed Williams was able to equalize with a goal in the 47th minute for the Gros Islet Team.

District 2 Cepal Holding Under 15 T20 Tournament
The finals of the District 2 Cepal Holding Under 15 T20 Tournament came to an exciting conclusion yesterday. 

In the first match for the 3rd place trophy, Castries Comprehensive beat SDA by 9 wickets.  Batting first SDA scored 51 all out.  Shervin Lubin and Sherkim Scott bagged 4 wickets each.

Creole Games Boxing Results
Defending champions St. Lucia started their defence last evening of the Creole Games Boxing title in Guadeloupe rather stutteringly after winning only one of the four bouts St. Lucian boxers participated in.

ST.Lucia’s only victory last night came in the 81kg Lightheavyweight  Novice Division when Policeman Yatil Robert had a points victory over Gregory Eloise of Martinique .Roberts advances to the finals Saturday evening against an opponent from  Cayenne French /Guyana.

21st St Lucia Squash Open Results

After days of competing in different categories, the last day of competition was  Saturday.  Matches commenced from 4.30 pm for different positions and the results were as follows:- 

  • Junior Luc Chevrier of St Lucia defeated Chris Defreitas also of St Lucia in a five setter for the plate final match.  Defreitas had the first game point in the first game but lost that game to Chevrier 10/12.  Defreitas took the next two games 11/6  11/8 before Chevrier took the next two 11/5  11/8. Chevrier was unable to attend the prize giving as he travelled to represent st Lucia at sailing

Saint Lucia loses to the USA in straight sets in Norceca U20 Womens Volleyball
And on the eve of the 2014 cpl, a new presenting sponsor for the Saint Lucia souks.

Argentina's Sergio Romero saved two penalties in a 4-2 shoot-out win over the Netherlands to seal his side's first World Cup final place in 24 years after the first ever goalless semi-final at the end of extra time on Thursday morning.

21st St Lucia Squash Open Results
Qualifying rounds of the 21st annual St Lucia Squash Open finished on Tuesday and the main draw commenced Wednesday with a draw of 16 players included the top four seeds of the tournament Colin Ramasra of Trinidad, Jules Snagg and Kevin Hannaway of St. Vincent and Charlie Sonson of St Lucia. St. Lucia’s Top Junior Squash Player, Andre Segovia to Play in the Caribbean Junior Championships Tournament (CASA) in Bermuda
At a recent Junior OECS Squash Tournament held in St. Lucia, Andre Segovia age 17, was the only St. Lucian player to secure a spot on the 2014 junior OECS team. He will join players from St. Vincent and Tortola in the annual Caribbean championship tournament (CASA) which will be held this year in Bermuda from July 12th - 20, 2014.

SLCA Blasts SLOC on Arbitrary Team Selection
The St. Lucia Cycling Association (SLCA) is adamant in demanding that the St. Lucia Olympic Committee (SLOC) reverses its decision not to include the sport of Cycling as part of Saint Lucia's Commonwealth Games team going to Glasgow Scotland, later this month. The SLCA considers this decision arbitrary, unfair, and consequently unacceptable, and is charging that the Executive of the SLOC has contaminated the selection process by involving itself in technical team selection.

SLNCA Female T20 Tournament Scores ( Northern Zone Scores)

The St Lucia National Cricket Association Alicia John Women's T 20 Cricket Tournament continued on Sunday at the Beauchamp Playing Field with the Northern Zone ladies and The SLNCA Development team playing to an exciting tie.

The Development made up of under 19 players batting first were dismissed for 110 in 16.3 overs with the main scorers being Paulina Francis and Alya Alfred with 14 each. For the Northern Zone the wicket takers were, Yasmaine St Ange with 2 for 17 in 3 overs, Merlika Edward and Roseline Preville with 2 for 18 in 3 overs each, Swayline Williams with 2 for 20 in 3 overs and 1 wicket to Gemma Bridgette.

Table Tennis National League
Team Eagles defeats Team Jaguars 4 games to 1. Experienced Teddy Matthews from Jaguars outplayed Clement Charles of Eagles 3 sets to 1 in the opening match. Chris Wells of Eagles quickly equalized the series when he defeated Tristan Matthews in straight sets. The doubles event saw Wells and Charles winning in straight sets against Teddy and Tristan. Chris Wells then won a tightly contested match against Teddy Matthews 3 games to 1. Clement Charles of Eagles then put the icing on the cake when he defeated Tristan in straight sets to give Eagles a 4 games  to 1 victory.

Central Castries beats Gros-Islet by Seven Wickets
Central Castries beat Gros-Islet by seven wickets as the National Cricket Association's Division one cricket competition continued at the weekend.

Playing at home Gros-islet won the toss and batted and scored 236 with captain Kurt Edward hitting 72, Vidal Crandon 59, Kimani Melius 48 and Dexter Solomon 23. Off spinner  Alleyn Prospere was the chief wicket taker for Cental Castries with six for 74 and opening bowler Loic Prospere bagged two for 40.

Guinness Street Football Grand Caribbean Finals 2014

The Caribbean Grand final of the 2014 Guinness Street Football Challenge was a resounding success in more ways than one.  From the well-orchestrated efforts of the organising committee to the dazzling skills, thrills and frills of the eight finalists on the field of play and the pulsating performance by reggae superstar Anthony Moses Davis aka Beenie Man, which brought the curtain down on the two-day showpiece.

Hosted by 2013 champions Trinidad and Tobago (T&;T) at the Jean Pierre Complex in Port of Spain, the tournament got off to a bright start on Friday 6 June when Antigua &; Barbuda copped a 1-0 win over Group A rival St. Vincent and the Grenadines courtesy of a Corwin Mathurin fifth minute strike.  St Lucia joined the party with a late 2-1 win over Dominica in their Group B opener. Silverios Vidale’s goal in the fourth minute for St. Lucia was cancelled out by Kelshire Charles’ equaliser two minutes later. But Guthyos Vidal would snatch all three points for St Lucia when he provided the winning item a minute from time.

St. Lucian Boxers for Invitational Card in Guyana this weekend

A contingent of Three Boxers and two officials are scheduled to leave here on Friday afternoon to take part in a boxing card to be held in Guyana on Saturday evening.

The boxers making the trip to Guyana are 75 kg Middleweight Arthur Langelier,69 kg welterweight Ron Bastien and 75kg middleweight  female boxer Melanda ST.Claire who will be making her competitive debut in the ring.

SLFA to Host a CONCACAF D’ Licensing Coaching Course

The Saint Lucia Football Association will be hosting a CONCACAF D’ Licensing Coaching Course from Thursday 29th May - Sunday 1st June 2014 in Soufriere.

The Course will be conducted by three (3) CONCACAF Instructors namely: Mr. Leonard Lake, Mr. Vinimore Alfredo Blaine and Mr. Jonathan Martinez.

Victoria College Match Report #4
The visiting Victoria College out of the United Kingdom ended their four-match tour of Saint Lucia with an exciting two-wicket win over Northern Grass Root Cluster at the Beausejour Cricket Ground yesterday.

Batting first, Northern Grass Root Cluster compiled 166 for 9 from their allotment of 40 overs with Kimani Herelle top-scoring with 43, while 12-year-old Lee Mago with 37,captain Dane Edward with 34, and female player Quiana Joseph who made 12, being the only other players to reach double figures. Extras contributed a healthy 31.

Sammy Signs for Glamorgan
Glamorgan have signed West Indies all-rounder Darren Sammy to play in their T20 Blast campaign.

Sammy will join Glamorgan until the start of the Caribbean Premier League in July.

The 30-year-old will play in the first home match of Glamorgan's campaign against unbeaten Sussex on Friday.

National Lotteries Masters Semi Finals

Central Castries marched into the finals of the National Lotteries Masters T20 competition with a comprehensive 78 run victory over Millet in the first semi final held at the Awen Playing field in Mon Repos on Sunday.

Central Castries won the toss and elected to bat posting 233 all out in 19.1 overs. Sheldon Thorpe led the batting with 56, Greg Wilson made 48, Thomas Elcock 44 and Edley George 21. Bowling for Millet B.Donavon took 3 for 44, M.Giddings 2 for 31, and D. Justin 2 for 43.

On Saturday May 24, the kids turn out to play on a very dry course which tested their mental and physical strength. It five hours in the scorching hot sun to produce results that represented the difficulties the game dishes out.

Victoria College Match Results
The visiting Victoria College out of the United Kingdom registered their first victory on Saint Lucian soil when they defeated a Dennery Under-15 team by 47 runs in a 35-overs-per-side match at the Dennery Cricket Ground over the weekend.

Winning the toss and batting, Victoria College totalled 194 before being dismissed in 29.5 overs with their main contributors being opener, David Bourne with 37 from 52 balls, and Jonny Heward, who top-scored with 57 from 63 balls. The two featured in a second-wicket stand of 112 which ended in the 20th over.
