All is in place for the staging of a vigil to honour the memory of a murdered Active Hill couple later today.
Sandrina Joseph and Jeffery Arbella were chopped to death while they slept in their home on February 1st.
One of the individuals who last saw Sandrina Joseph alive, says she was part of a youth club which had been planning a junior pageant for young girls in the area the night before she died.
Frederica St Croix says the news of Joseph’s death hit hard but the vigil planned for later today will serve to honour her life.
St Croix says while she does not believe that the vigil will stop the violence, she is hopeful that it will speak to the consciousness of young people and help them to value life.
So far the island has registered 15 homicides for 2017
The vigil starts at 6:30 from Active Hill and will move throughout the La Clery Community
