On Friday, September 22, 2017, during a police operation at Cacao, Babonneau, a .380 pistol, ten rounds of ammunition and two magazines were recovered. Two individuals were arrested as a consequence.

Twenty nine (29) year old Jervaughn St. Claire and thirty (30) year old Steve Joseph both residents of Cacao, Babonneau, were formally charged for the offences of Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition.

The two appeared before the First District Court in Gros Islet, today, Monday, September 25, 2017, for a bail hearing. They were granted bail in the sum of $3000.00 for Possession of Firearm and $1000.00 for Possession of Ammunition.

In more law enforcement news, On Tuesday, September 05, 2017, about 11:00 p.m. officers attached to the Gros Islet Police Station received a report of a stabbing at Corinth, Gros Islet.

Julianus Felix, also known as “Cocoy” or “Nuts”, a thirty two (32) year old resident of Corinth, Gros Islet, was admitted to the Victoria Hospital after having allegedly sustained one (1) stab wound to the abdomen, during an altercation earlier that day at Corinth, Gros Islet.

On Sunday, September 24, 2017, Julianus Felix succumbed to his injuries. A post mortem examination is scheduled for Tuesday, September 26, 2017.

One individual is currently in police custody in relation to this incident. Investigations are continuing into this matter. This incident brings the number of homicides recorded for the year 2017 to thirty nine (39).

On Wednesday, September 20, 2017, officers attached to the Babonneau Police Station, received a report of a chopping at Central Babonneau.

A forty eight (48) year old male resident of Babonneau sustained a laceration to the neck during a physical altercation with a known male. He was conveyed to the Victoria Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

On Friday, September 22, 2017, Phillip Leon a sixty (60) year old resident of Cacao, Babonneau, was formally charged for the offence of Attempted Murder in relation to this incident.

He appeared before the First District Court in Gros Islet, today, Monday, September 25, 2017, for a bail hearing and was granted bail in the sum of $7000.00.

Meanwhile On Monday, May 01, 2017, about 6:00 p.m. officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department received a report of a stabbing on Jn Baptiste Street, Castries.

Gregory Dolcy, a seventy five (75) year old resident of L’Anse Road, Castries, was admitted to the Victoria Hospital after having allegedly sustained one (1) stab wound to the abdomen, during an altercation with a female assailant.

He remained a patient at the Victoria Hospital until, Sunday, September 24, 2017, when he succumbed to his injuries. A post mortem examination is scheduled for Tuesday, September 26, 2017.

Investigations are continuing into this matter. This incident brings the number of homicides recorded for the year 2017 to forty (40).
